Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding shoppers they can save money on clothes and school supplies during the state’s sales tax holiday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5-7.

DSHS gets nearly 15,000 monkeypox vaccines

by GARY BORDERS, Texas Press Association The Texas Department of State Health Services has received and distributed 14,780 doses of the monkey pox vaccine to local health departments and DSHS regional offices. Another 27,000 doses could be made available by the Strategic National Stockpile.

The Mount Pleasant ISD announced today it will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2022-2023 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals.

Wildfire danger grows as drought stretches on

Drugs confiscated in MP arrest

On Thursday August 4th, 2022, Titus County Sheriff ’s Office received credible information that a resident of the 700 Block of South Lide, in Mount Pleasant, was in possession of Marijuana. After looking into the information, deputies determined there was sufficient probable cause of a criminal offense to seek a search warrant. A search warrant was subsequently approved by a magistrate and was carried out the same day.

Harts Bluff initiates police force
