MPHS senior named Heisman High School winner

Mount Pleasant High School senior, Sophie Greco, has been chosen as the MPHS school winner for the 2023 Heisman High School Scholarship program. Greco is Captain of the Lady Tiger Golf and MPHS Swim teams. She was named to the Academic All State Swim team as a junior.
Titus Regional Medical Center’s annual “All is Bright” event was held Thursday evening. Holiday decor items, like trees, wreaths and stockings, were up for grabs in a silent auction. After bidding ended, a ceremony with music, prayer and a memorial candle lighting took place.

Stabbing suspect arrested after search

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, Mount Pleasant police officers and detectives responded to a stabbing that had occurred at Priefert Manufacturing. Officers were notified that one of the two victims was being transported to Titus Regional Medical Center ER, and the suspect had left the scene.
