An arctic blast blew through Northeast Texas, bringing single- digit temperatures and wintry precipitation; school districts and and many businesses closed due to the frigid temps and icy roads.

Filing opens for two places on NTCC board

Filing for Place Four and Place Seven on the Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees began on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, and continues through 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, 2024.

Three city council places up for election

An election has been called for three city council spots, currently held by Councilmembers Tim Dale, Henry Chappell and Galen Adams. The call for the election was unanimously approved by the council; election day is May 4. The last day to file is Feb. 16.

TRMC health fair slated for Feb. 17

Titus Regional Medical Center’s will be hosting a heart health fair Feb. 17 in the TRMC lobby from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event will include free cardiovascular risk assessments, free health screenings, information booths, reduced cost labs and more.

Hall of Fame

Three honorees were inducted into Chapel Hill ISD’s Hall of Fame Friday night. The three inductees stood with their families as they were honored with a red jacket and plaque.

Jones honored at Eagle Scout ceremony for exemplary achievements

In celebration of dedication and achievement, Dontarian Jones was honored at his Eagle Scout ceremony on Monday January 8th 2024, marking a major milestone in his journey through scouting.
