Mount Vernon boy killed while rollerblading near Mount Pleasant

On Wednesday, November 6, approximately around 9 p.m., a 16-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed on U.S. 271, about a mile north of Mount Pleasant.According to Texas DPS Sgt. Ethan Sartor, he was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of traffic on roller blades.

On November 5, residents across Mount Pleasant and Titus County flooded the polls. Between early voting and Election Day, the results for county and city leaders were decided. Many ran unopposed, but several offices were decided by the voters.

MPHS Goin' Gold Band and Colorguard to be recognized for UIL
