Rebels fall at Cooper

The Rivercrest Rebels hoped to pull off an upset of undefeated Cooper to give them a leg up in the playoff race. Unfortunately, despite a close first half, the Bulldogs pulled away starting late in the second quarter as Cooper picked up a 50-8 win over Rivercrest.

Tigers lose cat fight in Hallsville

With all due respect to Wylie East, Sherman, Texas High and Hallsville, Coach Ritchie Pinckard believes that the team this season that has done the best job at stopping the Mount Pleasant Tigers has been the Mount Pleasant Tigers.

Going into the final weeks of the regular season, this space will examine potential playoff matchups in the bi-district round. First place teams meet fourth place in the other district, while the second place and third place squads meet each other.

The Tiger and Lady Tiger Junior High cross-country runners traveled to Hallsville last weekend to compete in the district meet which would be the last meet of the season. Both teams performed well with the boys finishing in third overall and the girls posting a fifth-place team finish.

TPWD community outdoor outreach program grant deadline nears

The deadline to apply for a CO-OP grant with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is quickly approaching on November 1. Community groups often face barriers connecting Texans to the outdoors -- transportation, meals, training, outdoor gear and supplies, to name a few.

Tigers move to 2-1 in district with win at Nac

On the road at Nacogodoches Friday, the Mount Pleasant Tigers found their backs against the wall. The Dragons held the Tigers scoreless in the first quarter, then Nac’s D’Marea Weaver notched a 58-yard pick six to put Nacogdoches ahead 14-0.
