MPISD Athletic Hall of Fame Spring 2022

MPISD announces the 2022 Spring Athletic Hall of Fame honorees: Cathi Brown, James Buchanan, Joey Chism, Laniedra Moore, and Ashley Self. Each inductee will be recognized prior to the Varsity home basketball game against Marshall on Friday, February 4 starting at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Bulldog boys race past Yantis, free throw woes doom Lady Bulldogs

After Covid caused a change in schedules across East Texas, the Harts Bluff basketball teams returned to the court last Tuesday against Yantis. The JV 2 Bulldogs defeated the JV Owls, 39-27. Luke Adair led Harts Bluff with 22 points.

With the district race heating up, the Rivercrest Rebels and Lady Rebels played a home makeup game against McLeod and a makeup game on the road at Clarksville looking to stay near the top of the standings.

During Chapel Hill’s Homecoming festivities Friday, Meli Pennington and Vincent Rodriguez were named Homecoming Queen and King. Pennington is the daughter of Shane and Toni Pennington and Rodriguez is the son of Aristeo and Gina Rodriguez.

MPHS Cheerleaders compete in UIL Spirit State Championships

The Mount Pleasant High School Cheerleaders competed in the UIL Spirit State Championships held on January 13 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Competing in the Coed division for the first time in school history, MPHS Cheer finished in 13th place in the entire state of Texas.

Lady Tigers roll past Sulphur Springs

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers didn’t need long to take control in what could be their final district game against Sulphur Springs for at least two years.

CHAAMP Hawks Cruise Past TCA

The CHAAMP Hawks traveled to Paris on Tuesday and defeated Trinity Christian Academy by a comfortable margin of 58-21. The outcome of the game was never in doubt, as the Hawks led 11-1 at the end of the first quarter, and 25-8 at halftime.
