With 33rd anniversary looming, state record holder St. Clair still enjoying the ride

  • Now 71, St. Clair says he recalls his long stint as the Texas state record record holder as lifetime experience. Following its induction to the Toyota ShareLunker program as Legacy Lunker No. 105, the fish lived out its life in aquarium displays at Irving Marine and the Children’s Aquarium Dallas at Fair Park, where it eventually died two years later.     It’s hard to believe, but January 24 will mark the 33rd anniversary of Texas’ state record largemouth bass. Barry St. Clair of Athens landed the 18.18 pounder way back in 1992 at Lake Fork, a 27,000-acre reservoir near Quitman in northeast Texas.
