The Rivercrest Rebels hit the diamond for the first time this season, splitting their opening two games.
In their first game of the season, the Rebels finished with more hits, but DeKalb scored three times in the bottom of the seventh to pick up a 9-8 win.
Rivercrest outhit the Bears, 8-6, but was stymied by five errors.
Connor Young finished with two hits on the evening and added an RBI and a run scored. Chase and Chance Duffer combined for four hits and three runs scored. Tre Williams went 1-1 with a run scored. Mark Grider scored twice and Gatlin Galloway scored a run.
Chase Duffer stole two bases and Galloway and Young each swiped one.
Young struck out six batters on the day and Ethan Taylor finished with three strikeouts.
The Rebels bounced back Friday on the road at Daingerfield, scoring six times in the fourth and defeating the Tigers, 10-4.
Young pitched four innings of no-hit ball, striking out eight. Taylor allowed just two hits in three innings of work, striking out one.
Young also helped his own cause, going 3-4 with three RBIs and scoring twice. Taylor scored twice as well. Dylan Earley added two RBIs and Williams added two hits and two runs scored. Zane Dees also finished with a hit and scored twice. Grider and Cason Fields each scored once.
The Rebels stole eight bases – two each for Taylor, Young and Fields and one apiece for Dees and Kaden Kelsoe.
The Rebels take on Cooper at Chisum Thursday afternoon at noon and will play their first home game Friday in their district opener against McLeod.
