The Rivercrest Rebels are in the midst of a “Choose Your Own Adventure” type finish to the season going into their final two games.

A win Friday solidifies a playoff spot. Depending on other results Friday, the Rebels could pull into third place with a win in their regular season finale. A loss this week could possibly send the Rebels battling for their playoff lives and needing some help.

As things stand currently, the Rebels stand alone in fourth place behind Cooper, Honey Grove and Wolfe City. The Wolves could pull themselves into second place Friday with a win over Honey Grove. Alba-Golden is in fifth, a game behind the Rebels, but would be best served by winning their finale against Cooper and Rivercrest losing twice since the Rebels own the headto- head tiebreaker. Quinlan Boles, the Rebels’ next opponent, is sixth and Como-Pickton is in seventh.

Cooper is in line to claim the district title after beating Honey Grove, 36-8. The Warriors can clinch second Friday with a win over Wolfe City, which could open the door for Rivercrest to finish third with wins in their final two games.

Boles finds their backs against the wall, needing to win out to pull back into contention for a playoff spot. The Hornets lost to Wolfe City Friday, 34-18, and finish the season at home against Rivercrest and next week at Cooper.

Against Wolfe City, the Hornets kept things close for a half, going into halftime tied 12-12. The Wolves finished the game on a 22-6 run to close things out.

Hornet quarterback Kole Lively finished 13-22 for 183 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Running back Gabriel Drennan ran for a 13-yard touchdown and Jonathan Cruthird caught a 30-yard touchdown pass. Other players to watch for Boles are receiver Wyatt Staggs, defensive end Jordan Dickeson and defensive tackle Eric Dickerson.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Boles’ Kevin Kiper Memorial Stadium.
