Lady Rebels win over NH; Rebels fall at G’water

Nearing the Christmas break, the Rivercrest Rebels and Lady Rebels were searching for wins to make the break just a little more merry and bright.

The Lady Rebels got that win in their next to last game before the break, rolling past North Hopkins, 61-34. Rivercrest jumped out to a 15-6 first quarter lead and put the game away in the third quarter with a 22-4 run.

Selena Kelley led the Lady Rebels with 14 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two assists. Anna Duvall and Logan Huddleston each scored 12 points, with Duvall adding four rebounds, four steals and two assists and Huddleston racking up seven steals and four boards.

Macy Childres finished with seven points, five rebounds and two steals and Abby Ross put in five points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists. Claire Grider scored five and Anna Guest finished with two points and five steals. Abigail Scott and Alexis Case each finished with two points and McKenna White pulled down two rebounds.

The Rebels went on a bear hunt as they traveled to Gladewater, but couldn’t pick up the win over the Bears as Gladewater held off the Rebels, 56-45.

Tre Williams finished with a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Dylan Earley added 14 points and nine boards. Kayden Skaggs put in six points, two rebounds and two steals and Mark Grider finished with four points, seven rebounds and three assists. Chase Duffer finished with two points, two steals, two rebounds and two assists and Noah Altal put up two points and three boards.

The Rebels and Lady Rebels played their final games prior to Christmas break Tuesday afternoon as the Rebels took on Pittsburg and the Lady Rebels met Daingerfield.
