Five Chapel Hill girls’ powerlifters: Kristen Brown, Rainie Mott, Sadie Matkin, Marie Hernandez and Flor Castillo, lifted at the Region 3 3A Large School powerlifting meet on March 3. Mott finished with a total weight of 705 and finished second in her weight class to advance to the 3A Large School State Powerlifting Meet, which will be held March 16. Brown finished 10th in her weight class with a total weight of 600, Matkin finished seventh with a total weight of 680, Hernandez placed ninth with a total weight of 650 and Castillo finished eighth in her weight class with a total weight of 705.
