Hart wins Golf State Championship

The Chapel Hill Golf program once again exercised its dominance in Texas girls golf by winning back to back State Championship in women’s golf. This time it was Katie Hart (Soph) who continued the Chapel Hill Back to Back State Championship for Chapel Hill.

The girls golf state championships were moved to Shadow Glen Golf Club to get the championships out of the Austin area. Day one was a great day weather-wise for everyone. When all the scores finished posting for the day, Hart found herself in the lead by two strokes over the 3A Region II champion and three shots ahead of the 3A Region III champion.

Day two had its own idea about how golf should be played. With the forecast of rain to hit around 2 pm, there were some doubts among the tournament organizers if the 18-hole round could be finished. That mattered not as the players took the course in the rain, wind, and cooler temperatures.

Hart fell behind briefly during these 18 holes but worked her way back to the top. At the end of day two, Hart was victorious, bringing home a state championship title.
