In the midst of a tight game in their district opener against Redwater on a cold night last Tuesday, the Pewitt Brahmas turned up the heat in the second half with a massive performance on offense and defense ro clinch the win.

After a 30-30 halftime tie, the Brahmas outscored the Dragons in the second half, 52-31 to pick up the 82-61 win in their first district game of the season.

Of their 52 second half points, Pewitt scored 28 points in the third quarter and 24 points in the final frame.

A’Myree Johnson led the Brahmas with 29 points. Junnie Johnson added 20 points and Deiontray Hill finished with 19. Tavion Brown notched six points, Kye Perry and Iddy Thomas both added three and Aden Weaver finished with two.

Drew Graves and Cole Turner led Redwater with 18 points each.

The Brahmas are off until Jan. 4 when they host New Boston.
