Historical markers

I do a lot of driving throughout the area. Every town seems to have at least one historical marker. Each marker has its own significance. Some markers, such as the one at the city park in Daingerfield, were erected to pay homage to the founder of the town or community.

Jim Ferguson fought to the bitter end

His fate was already sealed when Gov. James Edward Ferguson rose to speak on Sep. 24, 1917. The defiant defendant aimed his parting shot not at the 28 jurors, whose minds were already made up, nor the hostile gallery but at the people of Texas.

Destiny Dimensions

Matthew 7:7-8 will move you forward into your destiny. This verse can be broken down into three parts. You will notice that the three parts start with each of these verbs: ask, seek and knock. Then each verb is followed up by a promise. The Lord loves movement.

It could be my imagination, or maybe my frame of mind, but it seems like there has been so much grief in the little orb that I call my world this week. So many people are hurting from loss, dealing with sickness, and battling the seemingly endless plague of Covid.

A learning curve

In preparation for my pumpkin garden, I forgot to google “average pumpkin plant size,” and, man, did I underestimate that. I love fall and the holiday season, so I decided this year, with my very minimal gardening experience, that I was going to plant my own pumpkins.
