Senior citizen stumbles over shoe scam

I think $99 is a small price to pay for learning a lesson that hopefully will stick with me for the rest of my life. I would have preferred to have bartered for a lessor amount – say $15, a dozen free-range eggs or a sack of pecans – but the deal was struck and I paid the price.
