Nothing could be nicer than a ricer

According to a recent survey by David Montgomery at YouGov.com, I cannot count myself as one of the “great” cooks because I don’t own a ricer. It doesn’t matter that I own (and use) every other kitchen tool used by “the greats” – mandolin, chopsticks, manual juicer, zester and garlic press – I’ll never achieve the top rung because I don’t own a ricer, whatever that is.
