Wilma Jean Lawton

Funeral Service for Wilma Jean Lawton, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 A.M Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with Rev. Kirthell Roberts, officiating. Burial in Cortznes Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant. She died, Friday, February 17, 2023.

Wilma was born February 11, 1929 in Omaha, Texas to Lonnie A. and Annie Mae (Holloman) Jones.

Wilma was a Christian. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington Class of 1946. She loved cooking and spending time with her family. She also loved people and having family gatherings at her house. She was a people person.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, her husband Albert Lawton, three brothers and eight sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters and a son-in-law Angelia Smith, Phyllis and Travis Wilkerson; her son Reginald Lawton all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; five grandchildren Tarsha Lawton, Dedrick Wilkerson, Travis Wilkerson, Jr., William Smith II, Regina Patton; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
