Patsy Ruth (Brown) White, age 84, of Mt. Pleasant, TX passed away on October 3,2021 in Tyler, TX.

Born February 5,1937 in the Sardis Community of Cass County Texas, Patsy was the only child of Joel Sterling Brown and Mabry Ione (Strickland) Brown. After starting school in Hughes Springs, TX, Patsy and her parents moved to Greenville, TX where she received the majority of her education. While in high school Patsy was President of the Future Homemakers of America. She was also a member of the Flaming Flashes Drill Team and enjoyed performing at school and community functions. Patsy grew up in a loving home, nurtured by her parents who taught her the value of faith, family, and compassion for others.

While in high school, Patsy met Neil Caskey White, Jr. After courting for several years, they married on July 27, 1956. Patsy and Neil enjoyed 64+ years of what was truly marital bliss. They stood alongside of each other with loving support until Neil’s passing in April of 2020.

Patsy is survived by her and Neil’s two children, daughter, Angie (White) Monk and husband Kal of Quitman, TX and son, Phil White and wife Kim of Cuero, TX. Survivors also include grandchildren, Jared Monk and wife Jennifer of Tyler, TX, Daphne White Darby and husband Brian of LaPorte, TX, and Jana Monk Teel and husband Jordan of Wills Point, TX. Six great grandkids survive as well ensuring that Patsy’s love is carried on for generations.

Also surviving are brothers-in-laws, Bob White (wife Gail) and Jon White (wife Susie) both of Greenville, TX. Patsy also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Neil and her nurturing parents, Joel and Ione Brown.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Patsy’s daily caregivers that were instrumental in her comfort for the last 18 months.

A visitation will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Sardis Cemetery.
