TAYLOR

James “Leland” Taylor, age 76, of Mt. Pleasant TX., passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Gladewater Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant TX., with Bro. Kerry Ademeck officiating, and Craig Taylor, Tom Utley, Eric Swan, Lance Hall, Corey Swan and Colton Taylor serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.

James was born on November 2, 1944 in Blackwell TX., to his parents, Reynold Taylor and Pauline (Spencer) Taylor. He worked at Lone Star Steel for many years and retired from there. James married Norma “Sue” Alexander on October 7, 1965 in Mt. Pleasant TX.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years whom he cherished very much, Norma “Sue” Taylor, his three children; Susan Swan, Michael Taylor and wife Debbie Lawrence, and Deborah Utley and husband Tom Utley, his grandson; Craig Taylor and wife Heather Taylor, Eric Swan, Lance Hall and wife Megan Hall, and Corey Swan and Wife Smaila Swan., as well as two great grandsons; Colton and Layton Taylor, and three great-granddaughter; Adaline Hall and Gracie Swan, and Ella Swan. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Reynold and Pauline Taylor, two brothers; Weldon and Kenneth Taylor, sister; Betty Lemond.
