In the first hour of May 24, 2021, Courtney Alan Somsag, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, took his final breath at age 61.
Courtney was born to Malcolm Leo and Marjorie Mae (Cunningham) Somsag on October 1, 1959 in Streator, Illinois. He was married to Hiroko Somsag for nearly 42 years. They raised two children, son Benjamin Alan, and daughter Angela May Marrero.
Courtney was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm, his mother, Marjorie, and his granddaughter, Alyssa Rene Potter. He is survived by his wife, Hiroko, his two children, Benjamin and Angela, his son-in-law, Daniel Marrero, his two sisters, Jean (and Michael) Lock of La Feria, TX and Karen Stewart (and Rob Elmore) of Plainfield, IL, and five nephews, Brian (and Janice) Lock, Patrick Lock, Tim Lock (and Jamie Thomas), Dan (and Cindy) Lock, and Bradley Smith of Illinois.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12th, 2021 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, TX at 1:00 p.m., and a committal and interment service on June 14th, 2021 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
