Funeral Service for Shirley Johnson, 70, a resident of Omaha, Texas will be 11:00 A.M Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Union Chapel Baptist Church, Omaha. Burial in Bell Heaven Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant. She died, Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Omaha.
She was born October 20, 1952, in Omaha, Texas to R.J. and Arvella (Crowder) Johnson.
She graduated from Carver High School, class of 1970. Shirley also graduated from Texas college in 1974 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education. She had a lifetime teachers’ certification. Shirley retired from the VA in Bonham, Texas. She was a member of Omaha First Baptist Church, Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Johnson Jr.
She is survived by, her siblings Debra Hernandez of Ft. Worth, Texas, Sylvia Favors (James) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michelle Nickleberry of Omaha, Curtis R. Johnson (Hermecia) of Houston, Texas, Kim Bailey Johnson Sr. (Ellisa) of Chicago, Illinois; special cousin Jerry Dell Walker of Mt. Pleasant; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
