Roy Bolin Cunningham

Roy Bolin Cunningham, age 91 years, of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Mount Vernon surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation was Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel from 1011:00 a.m. The Graveside service immediately followed at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Pastor Pepper Puryear officiating. Pallbearers will be Chad Cunningham, Derek Cunningham, Tory Cunningham, Kayle Campbell, Tim Robinson and Frank Wilson.

Roy was born on August 13, 1931, in Franklin County, Texas to Robert Lester and Muriel Emerline (Bolin) Cunningham. He married Barbara Williamson on February 16, 1952, in Franklin County. Roy served in the United States Army, and he was a member of the Mount Vernon First Baptist Church. Roy was a craftsman; his woodworking skills was of the highest quality and enjoyed by many family members and friends. He loved attending sporting events his grandchildren were involved in, watching his sons and grandsons race dirt track, and the many trips taken with his nephew, Robert and his wife, Shirley.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Meadows and brother, Lloyd Cunningham.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Barbara Cunningham of Mount Vernon; sons, Gary Cunningham and wife, Tammy; Glenn Cunningham and wife Sandy all of Mount Vernon; daughter, Sondra Cunningham of Mount Pleasant. Grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Sawyer Cunningham, Derek and Misty Cunningham, Cortney and Kayle Campbell, Tory and Genevieve Cunningham. Great grandchildren, Hunter Cunningham, Trenton Cunningham, Kember Cunningham, Kynzee Campbell, Ryland Cunningham, Colt Cunningham, Jentri Cunningham, Conrad Cunningham, and Nico Cunningham. A host of family and friends.
