Robert Joe “Bob” Fitch

Robert Joe “Bob” Fitch, 80, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 21st, 2022. A graveside service will be held at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas on Sunday, February 27, at 2:00 PM. He will lie in state on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.

Bob was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on September 8th, 1941, to Clifford and Naomi Fitch. He was a 1959 graduate of Talco High School in Talco, Texas. Following graduation, he attended Paris Junior College and the Dallas Barber College . In 1961, he married the love of his life, Joyce. After living in Dallas for a few years, he moved back to Talco, Texas, and worked in the oil fields. Later, he built a house and moved to Bridges Chapel, Texas. Bob retired as a County Commissioner in Titus County after 8 years of service. Following retirement, he and his wife, Joyce, moved to Corinth, Texas.

Bob had a great sense of humor! He could give and take teasing well. Bob enjoyed singing, and could often be heard singing praises to his Lord and Savior on his riding lawn mower. He held the position of song leader at several Baptist churches through the years, most notably, First Baptist Church of Talco. He loved southern gospel music, collecting and restoring antique clocks, going to garage sales and flea markets, and working outdoors. He was a member of the Hickory Creek Baptist Church in Corinth. He also was a member of the Mayflower Society as a direct descendant of William Brewster.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Marie Fitch, nee Poole of Corinth, son Cliff and wife Paula Fitch of Azle, son John and wife Dee Ann Fitch of Mt. Pleasant, daughter Susan See of Corinth, grandchildren, Rachel, Tyler, Dillon, Claire and Ryan, and great granddaughter, Julia.
