Radmila Sekulic, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, in Mt. Pleasant. Radmila was born August 15, 1941, in Kukulje, Yugoslavia to Vid Mandic and Kosa Ljepojevic Mandic.

By all that were fortunate to know her, Radmila was clearly recognized as an incredibly strong and charming woman, whose life exemplified the hard work ethic, dedication, and commitment to her family. She came from a modest background and, as she started her career as a young nurse, she dedicated her first earnings to help her widowed mother and siblings. As the life took turns, Radmila too lost her husband at an early age, and fully focused her life on raising her four young boys, the youngest of which was less than a year old at the time. She was both, a full-time registered nurse and a full-time mom, and quickly became a talented seamstress and excelled at sewing and knitting, making clothing for her children. But most importantly, she strived to provide her four sons with the best example to follow, instilling in them the importance of commitment and the belief that anything is possible, if one works at it.

Radmila was a true visionary, always eager to learn and achieve new things. Her can-do attitude was infectious. After moving to the United States and learning English in her 50s, she went back to school and received a PhD in Oriental Medicine and established her own practice in Rolling Hills Estates, and Hollywood, CA. Radmila was a person of strong faith. As a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, she enjoyed studying the Bible and attending numerous church activities. She loved spending time with her family, particularly visiting with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite way of expressing her love for her family and friends was often through food. She was a remarkable cook, who channeled her creativity into making extraordinary culinary creations. She lived a full life and left an indelible mark on all that remain behind. Radmila was preceded in death by her husband, Mirko Sekulic; and her parents.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Djordje and Silvija Sekulic of San Pedro, California, Aleksandar and Lyn Sekulic of Scottsdale, Arizona, Milan and Yanet Sekulic of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Mirko and Britt Sekulic of Belingham, Washington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Petar and Vera Mandic of Vancouver, Canada and Djoko and Dara Mandic of Banja Luka, Bosnia; one sister, Smiljka Perkovic of Sisak, Croatia; seven grandchildren, Maya Sekulic, Ana Sekulic, Niko Sekulic, Eva Sekulic, Nicole Sekulic, Natalia Sekulic, and David Sekulic; and numerous other relatives and friends.
