Virginia Sue Pynes Presley, 84, went to her eternal home to be with the Lord on Sept. 29, 2021, and was finally reunited with her husband.

Sue was born in Leesburg, Texas, on Dec. 7, 1936, to loving parents Esca and Mattie Polson Pynes, and her brother Polson Pynes. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1954.

In 1956, she met Bobby Glynn Presley and they married on December 17, 1960. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Rhonda Sue Presley McKinney and Brady Glynn Presley. She lived in Mount Pleasant for 60 years and during that time was employed with Southwestern Electric Company, First National Bank, Guaranty Bond State Bank, Pilgrim Bank, and Interfirst Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant for 57 years. She loved her church and enjoyed being a member of the “Friends in Christ’’ Sunday School class. She thoroughly enjoyed her monthly birthday luncheons with her Sunday School ladies. She loved spending time with her six grandkids, her cats, watching the Texas Rangers win, Hallmark Movies, and feeding her birds, especially cardinals.

Sue was an incredible daughter that took care of her mother at home until she passed at 101. She was an outstanding wife who cared for her husband throughout his journey with Alzheimer’s. She was an amazing Christian mother and grandmother, and left a powerful legacy loving her family well and pointing them to the Lord.
