Funeral Service for Ocie Edwards, 92, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 A.M Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Sunset Baptist Church. Interment Piney Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. She died, December 1, 2022.
Ocie was born August 9, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant to William and Sluane Evans.
She was a member of Sunset Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, music, cooking and outdoor gardening.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband John Edwards, son Gary Edwards, stepchildren Sam Edwards and Barbara Harper, grandchildren Charles Edwards, Cynthia Johnson, Marshall Thomas, Jr.; numerous siblings.
She is survived by her children Caron Edwards, Ronnie Edwards and Sarah Thomas all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Edna Rembert of Dallas; stepdaughters Patricia Hodge of Dallas and Linda Brown of Seattle, WA; 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; siblings Tom Evans (Linda) of Naples, Henry Evans (Gloria) of Redwater, William Evans (Essie) of Mesquite, Willie Mae Buckingham of Garland, Martha Jones of Naples, Texas; special friend Benita Turner of Alaska; and a host of other relatives and friends.
