Martha Raye Brown

Funeral Service for Martha Raye Brown, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, will be 1:00 P.M Friday, February 24, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with Rev. Kirthell Roberts, officiating. Burial in Cortznes Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant. She died, Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Martha was born June 27, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to O.D. and Maretta (Hatcher) Brown.

Martha was a member at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, havingservedinvariouspositions. Shegraduated from Booker T. Washington Class of 1959. In her earlier years, she was employed at Golden Years Nursing Home and Geras Nursing Home. Before retiring, Martha was employed for many years at Titus Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, five brothers and four sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Kathie Drennon of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; her son Michael Brown of Nash, Texas; five grandchildren Carnisha Brown, Michael Cheathum, Adrain Brown, Sansherie Drennon, Nayesha Brown; one great grandchild Noah Cheathum and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
