Marjorie Ann Mars, 81 of Mount Pleasant, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. She was born on April 5, 1940, in Pittsburg, TX to A.J. “Jack” Hilton and Ima (White) Hilton.
In 1959, she married Conrad Mars, and they enjoyed nearly 37 years together until being parted by his death and they were well-known for their commitment to each other. She was a devoted and proud law enforcement wife.
Mrs. Mars worked for many years as a secretary and records keeper in the medical and insurance fields. Also, she was co-owner of All Occasions, where she helped countless people celebrate weddings, birthdays and other special days. She was a caring and trusted lady, on whom many people depended for love and advice. Friends and relatives alike were often gifted with treats from her kitchen, such as her famous cinnamon rolls and chicken and dumplings.
A dedicated Christian, Mrs. Mars was faithful to church. Most recently, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Talco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Conrad, and four brothers, and a sister. She is survived by children, Kelly Mars, of Mount Pleasant, Billy Mars and wife, Karen, of Mount Pleasant, Melanie Dill and husband, Russell, of Mount Pleasant, Michael Mars and wife, Jamee, of Talco, and daughter-in-law Dottie Clark of Missouri. She is survived by grandchildren Dustin Mars and wife Jennifer, Rusty Dill and wife Heather, Megan DeLoach and husband Bryan, Brin Narramore, and husband Clay, Conner Mars, Seth Mars and LeighAnn Mars, and great-grandchildren Alexis McPherson, Jace Mars, Adam DeLoach and Bowen DeLoach. Also surviving are her devoted sisters Lorine Friday and Mary Kocic of Pittsburg, and a sister-in-law Shirley Burns and her husband, Bobby, of Mount Vernon. She also leaves behind, numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives as well as many cherished friends.
Her family would like to say a special thanks to her niece, Tina Hicks and the nurses at Pleasant Springs for the special care and attention she gave during her time of need, as well as the staff of Chambers Hospice and everyone who helped to make her feel happy and comfortable. We would also like to thank lifelong friends, Billy Joe and Kay McNutt for their devotion, and everyone who visited her, sent cards and gave words of kindness.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, July 2, 2021, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Chapel. Interment will be held in the White Oak Springs Cemetery.
