Margaret Marie Laing

Margaret Marie Laing, 87, passed away in Tyler, Texas on March 30, 2023. She was born on January 19, 1936 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to Frank Smith and Sarah (White) Smith.

Margaret Laing was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a graduate of class 1954.

She is survived by her son Butch Laing of Omaha, Texas; daughter Nona and husband Brad Branch of Cookville, Texas; daughter-in-law, Carol Chamberlin of Winnie, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Laing, Hannah Laing, Jeremy and wife, Candace Abshier, Josh Abshier, Zachary and Sarah Kennedy, Tracy Branch, and Carla Sears; great-grandchildren, Cameron Sears, Hayden Sears, Jeffery Kennedy, Mikaylah Kennedy, and Luke Kennedy.

Margaret was preceded in death by, her parents; husband, Ike Laing; son, Jeff Laing; sisters, Anna Lou Morton, Ann Wyant, Odeatha Anderson, and Chokeetah Mutt Tully; brothers, Hassel Smith, Floyd Smith, Benjamin Smith, and Lloyd Smith; and nephew, Rex Morton.

A service will held at the Concord Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be an hour before the service. A burial to follow at the Concord Cemetery.
