Louise Hughes Billings of Lone Star, Texas passed away on May 24, 2023. She was born on November 24, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant, TX to Grady D. Hughes, Sr. & Ophelia (Sackett) Hughes.
She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1945. She moved to Yuma, AZ raising 4 children with her husband, William Billings. She was a certified paramedic working in the search & rescue department for a number of years. The family later returned to Mt. Pleasant & joined the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was active in the women’s auxiliary and was a 4-time cancer survivor.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, William T. Billings, Jr. & Jody; daughter & son-in-law, Barbara Ann & Jimmy McCauley ; son, Gerald Billings; daughter & son-in-law, Shirley Hockman & Robert Hendley; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous gt gt grandchildren; brother & spouse, James Hughes & Randy Stone; brother-inlaw & sister-in-law, Eddy & Virginia Billings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Billings, Sr.; grandchild, Terisa Billings; grandchild, Colton Simpson; granddaughter in law Karah Cuming; daughter-in-law, Barbara Billings brothers, Grady D. Hughes, Jr.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Chapel with interment to follow in the Damascus Cemetery.
