Lillian Ruth Rape

Funeral service for Lillian Ruth Rape, 87, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Piney Creek Baptist Church. Burial in Piney Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. She died December 22, 2022.

Lillian was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on August 21, 1935 to Claxton and Era (Brooks) Minter.

She attended Booker T. Washington High School and was a member of Piney Creek Baptist Church. Before retiring, she has worked for Holiday Inn, Pilgrims Pride and Jordan Health. She united in holy matrimony to John A. Rape when she was 18 years old. They were married for 64 years before he passed in 2020.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings.

She leaves, two sons and daughtersin- law Kevin and Cheryl Rape, Clayton and Bridget Rape, all of Mt. Pleasant; four daughters and sons-in-law Diane Hill of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Alberta and Jerry Yarber of Tyler, Texas, Verna and Charles of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Susie; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
