Vicki Lynn Landers, 66, of Mount Pleasant, died September 24th in Dallas at Baylor Cancer Center surrounded by her family.

Vicki was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Denton, Texas, to Joyce and Bobby Corn, but raised by her Grandparents, Guy and Opal Corn. She was a graduate of Denton High School where she met her High School Sweetheart, David Landers, in 1969, they later married July 25th, 1972. They moved to East Texas in the early 80’s and began to become active in their local church and rodeos. In 1990, Vicki completed her lifelong dream of becoming a mother to Amy Nicole. She believed being a mother and eventually a grandmother, was the greatest accomplishment she could achieve. She quickly became known as ‘Momma Vicki’ through the years to all the children that frequented her house. She left no child unloved by her. The family would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, Baylor Cancer Center and Vitas Hospice Care for their kindness, dedication, and comfort shown during this difficult time.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joyce Edwards and Bobby Ray Corn. Beloved Grandparents, Guy and Opal Corn. Brother, Bobby Wayne Jr. and James Ray Landers and Sister Margert Smith. As well as Nelly and Andrew ‘Dub’ Landers.

She is survived by her soul mate and life partner of 49 years, David Landers. Daughter, Amy Nicole Nowicki, and husband Tom, of Fort Worth. Sister, Amanda Crutchfield, and husband Eddie, of Benton Arkansas. Sister Kim Whyte and husband Don, of Hallsville. Her most precious survivors were her grandchildren Kayden Michael VanRijn and RaeLynn Nicole Nowicki. She is also survived by her ‘other children’ Katy, Lane, McKenzie, and Austin Pippin.

Pallbearers: Tom Nowicki, Kayden Van Rijn, Derek Pippin, Austin Pippin, Michael Morris and Johnny Elmore.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at the New Hope Cemetery in Scroggins, TX.
