Kenneth Scott Amerson of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away on August 11, 2024. He was born on February 1, 1952, in Pittsburg, Texas to Edgar & Pearlie (Langston) Amerson.
He worked for 32 years at Texas Utilities Mining as a dragline operator. After retirement he was very involved in gunsmithing and taught many concealed handgun classes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Amerson; son, Kevin Amerson; son, Mitchell Amerson; grandchildren, Alexis, Abby, Ashleigh, Morgan & Addison Kate; great grandson, Sebastian Rios; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Terry; brother-in-law & spouse, Kenneth & Bea Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Amerson& sister, Trogling Bradshaw.
A visitation will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. A service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Southside Church of Christ. Interment will be held in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
