Johnny Rex Carnes, 75, of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away Jan. 3, 2022 in Mount Pleasant.
Memorial service will be held on Jan. 15, 2022 at Highland Park Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with Bro. Tony Lawson officiating.
Johnny was born on Dec. 28, 1946 to James and Buelah Mae (Taff) Carnes. He married Patsy Ruth Temples on Nov. 8, 1969 in Mount Pleasant. He was a retired forklift operator at Pilgrim Pride Corporation.
He is survived by wife Patsy Ruth and his children Deanna Ewing and husband Dennis, of Bogata, Cathy Cota and husband James of Mount Pleasant and daughter Sandie Larrison of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ellie Ewing, Jeffery Brooks and wife Stephanie, Elizabeth Ewing, Makenzie Cota, Ethan Cota, Evan Cota and Dakota Sanchez.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother Buelah Mae Carnes, father James A. Carnes, brothers James Carnes, Joe Carnes, Ray Carnes and sisters Joyce Pettigrew, Dot McFerrin and grandson Doyle Brooks.
