Funeral Service for J.L. Morgan will be Friday, June 3, 3022, 11:00am at Trinity Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant interment in Piney Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary.
J.L. Morgan was born September 21, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Jake Morgan and Nellie Brooks. He died May 26, 2022.
He attended White Oak Community School and member of Independent Hope Baptist Church. He retired from Luminant, after 20 years of service and former co-owner of M & M Detail Shop in Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son J.L. Morgan Jr., brothers Jimmy Morgan and T.L. Brown, Jr., sisters Ora Dean Minter and Arthur Mae Walker.
Survived by wife Laura Morgan; four sons John (Telesa) Morgan, Ray Morgan, Joshua (Kiome) Morgan, Solomon Morgan; two daughters Lorraine Brannon, Gloria Grant; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; brothers J.T. Morgan, Jerry Morgan, Rayford Brown; sisters Mary Lewis, Linda (A.J.) Lewis, Artice (Frank) Johnson, Beverly Curtis, Frances Brown, Carol (Darren) Butler; host of nieces, nephews; uncle Rev. John M. (Angela) Brooks; aunts Margaret Brooks, Billie Morgan; a host of other relatives, friends.
