Jerry Thomas Scott of Mt. Vernon, Texas entered eternal rest on January 27, 2024. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Texas on June 6, 1940. Tomwasanonlychild. JerryThomas,known lovingly as Tom, grew up in Mt. Vernon and graduated Mt. Vernon High School in 1958. Tom had several jobs during his life. He ran a highly successful restaurant in Texarkana and had bulldozer/dirt work business in the Mt.Vernon area. In his later years, he worked locally for Brooksey Crow managing a rock yard.
Tom loved politics and always enjoyed a good conversation. Tom donated his body to the “UT Southwestern Medical Center-Willed Body Program”. He will be cremated with his ashes scattered at sea.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Lorene Scott. Surviving relatives are cousins Larry Scott and wife Yvonne, Linda Billings and husband Larry and Sue Barker and husband Ron.
