Janet Glaze

Janet Glaze, 77, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Friday night, Dec. 2, 2022, at her home in Carthage. Janet Carolyn Harris was born on Dec. 19, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, TX to the late Thomas Cecil Harris and Daisy Ellen Green Harris. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 1963. On Jan. 19, 1963, Janet married Harold Leland Glaze, in a small ceremony attended by the bride, groom, and minister Ned Chipley, because Janet was still in high school at the time. She loved working on puzzles and spending time with her family. Janet moved to Carthage in 1976, from Mesquite, TX, and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Cain.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold Glaze; children, Clifton Glaze and wife Krista, Randy Glaze and wife Janet, and Dawn Anderson; sisters, Grace English and husband Ronnie, Laura Nell Stringer and husband Tim, and Lura Dell Harris; grandchildren, Chandler Glaze, Laramie Cureton, Austin Glaze, Addison Glaze, and Kayla Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Malakai and Meadow Cureton.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage with Dr. Kirby Hill officiating. Following the memorial service, a reception, prepared by Central Baptist Church, will be hosted at Glaze Manor, 416 North St. Mary Street in Carthage.
