James ( Jim) Alan Ford

James (Jim) Alan Ford went to be with Jesus, on November 3, 2023, at the age of 78. Jim passed away after a short battle with cancer in Mount Pleasant, Texas, comforted by the love of his life, Jeanette, by his side.

Jim was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on July 23, 1945. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended Hancock High School. Jim also attended the University of Missouri, Rolla, and the University of Tennessee, where he received his bachelor’s degree and MBA, respectively.

Jim and Jeanette met in Montgomery, Alabama and were married in 1973. They raised three children together, Troy, Tracey, and Erin. They lived all over the United States, and in Vancouver, British Columbia, before they settled on the lake in Pittsburg, Texas.

Jim became a civil engineer and launched his career, first working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Atomic Energy Commission. He later became a Partner with Tondu Corporation developing power facilities in the U.S. and Canada.

Jim had a long and successful career, but his family and friends will remember him best for his tremendous faith. He was a servant leader, who taught in church, supported charities and missions, and spread his love and faith in Jesus Christ with everyone he met. Jim and Jeanette felt called by God to spread their faith across the world. They engaged in mission work far and wide, traveling to China, Africa, Scotland, Australia, and other areas in need of the word of God. In their travels, they experienced diverse cultures, saw the wonders of the world, and built friendships across the globe. Jim brought his experiences back home to share with his friends and family.

Second only to Jim’s faith was his family. Holidays and birthdays were spent together, in Dallas, or at his home in east Texas. He was the patriarch of his family, who spread wisdom, laughter, love, and joy to his children and grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanette, his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and LuAnn Anspach, sister-in-law, Beverly Weldon, his three children, Troy, Tracey, and Erin, and his six grandchildren, Greyson, Kennedy, Jared, Emersen, Jordan, and Jensen, whom he loved.

Jim will be missed tremendously, but we know he is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus!

A celebration of life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 831 TX-179 Loop, Pittsburg, Texas 75686, on November 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
