Ja’Cory Donta’ Chism

Funeral service for Ja’Cory Donta’ Chism, 40, of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 A.M Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant. Interment in Old West Side Cemetery, under the direction of Tumey Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant. He died March 5, 2024.

He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on January 5, 1984 to Kerwin and Jackie (Chism) Aikins.

Cokey, as he was fondly known by his family and friends, was a 2002 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Mt. Pleasant. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was the Activity Director at the Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care.

He was preceded in death by his sister Candice Aikins Gatson, grandfather Richard Chism, uncle Ricky Watson, aunt Jennifer Ivery, cousin Aqulius White.

He is survived by his father and mother Kerwin and Jackie Aikins; sister Renonda Williams all of Glenn Heights, Texas; grandparents Gladys Chism, Patsy Aikins and Weldon Wilkerson all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; nieces Zyana Gatson and Unique Aikins; godson Cordae Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
