Funeral service for Mr. Jackie Floyd “Jack” Easley, 73 of Carthage will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ken Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Walton Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jack Easley was born on December 6, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Sam Larkin “SL” Easley and Wanda Jean Randall. He passed from this life on September 17, 2023, in Richardson, Texas. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School and graduated with the class of 1968 and later attended A&M University. He proudly served his country through the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he worked as an Electrician for Lone Star Steel and later as an Instrument and Control Technician for Texas Oil and Gas and then Martin Lake Power Plant. He was an avid reader and he loved to travel, most especially to the beach. He loved his family and spending time with his kids. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clayton.

He married the love of his life, Mrs. Connie Marie Copeland on June 19, 1992, and together they celebrated 31 years of marriage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Easley; children, Windy Cox and husband Donald, Stephen Easley and wife Cathy, and Ginger Minton and husband David; siblings, Janie McDaniel, and Bruce Easley and husband Earl Isbell; half siblings, Sheila Baker, Kent Easley and wife Elaine, and Brent Easley and wife Erica; step siblings, Sharon Tosh and husband Richard, and Jerry Matthews and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Chelsea Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Ethan Easley, Aurora “Rory” Easley, and Reid Minton; great grandchildren, Mason and Addison Speegle. A host of relatives, and friends also survive him.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Serving as pallbearers are Ethan Easley, Reid Minton, Earl Isbell, Bryan Schexnayder, Johnny Schexnayder, Kevin Pitts, James Copeland, and Jody Hill. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Schexnayder, Donald Bell, Shawn Powell, and Matt Speegle.
