Gary Max Hill passed away on February 23, 2023 at the age of 72.

He was a lifetime public servant, eleven-year Marine Corps Veteran, military police and forward observer, he served two tours in Vietnam, he was a police officer in Mt. Vernon, Vivian, Louisiana, and Sheriff’s deputy and police officer in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He was also an international peacekeeper in Kosovo.

He is survived by his loving mother, Margarette Ann (Rust) Woodard, three sisters and their families: Ronda and Johnny Sargent of Mount Pleasant, Cindy and James Head of Winnsboro, Connie and Craig Seeber of Colorado, and his brother-in-law, John Montgomery of Burleson. He leaves behind five children and their families: Casey Moore and significant-other Daniel Horn of Pottsboro, Samantha and Steve Cowling of Granbury, Dandi Thompson of Granbury, Kim and Jimmie Sumpter of Mount Pleasant, and Steve Hill of Fort Worth. He also leaves behind an uncle, Sam Hill, and cousin, Sammy J and Stefanie Hill - all of Mount Pleasant as well as many loving grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leatrice, parents, Max and Peggy Hill, his bonus father, Woody Woodard, and sister, Jackie Hill Sellers Dodson.

A service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Greenhill Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM with a burial to follow at the National Cemetery.
