With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eugene Carol “Dead-Eye” Wilson, born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, on October 30, 1937, to Eugene and Nell Wilson. He departed from this world on March 14, 2024. A beacon of light, a man of valor, he illuminated the paths of those around him with wisdom and kindness.

Throughout his life, Carol exuded grace and wisdom, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He graduated from High School in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and then proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from SWEPCO, East Texas Division, where his diligence and passion shone through in every task he undertook. He was a proud member of Masonic Lodge #1396 in Pine Tree. He exemplified what it meant to be a Mason, always striving to make the world around him a brighter and happier place.

In his journey through life, Carol found his greatest joy in his loving family. He is preceded in death by his late wife Ann Wilson, son Larry Wilson, sisters, Jeanette Howell, Gloria McNeme, and brother Gaylon Wilson. He is survived by his devoted wife Dianne Wilson, beloved children, daughter, Melinda Wilson Beatty and husband Brandon, son, Gary Wilson and wife Sandra, grandchildren Mason Beatty and wife Hannah, Kylee Beatty and fiancé Luke Jones, Lance Wilson, and Amber Holifield and husband Brad. Carol is also survived by stepdaughter Jennifer Brown and husband Ken, stepson Jeff Page, great grandchildren, Remington and Ryleigh Beatty, Zachary Wilson, and his beloved dog Jigger. Carol’s legacy transcends the realms of time, resonating in the hearts of all who were touched by his grace.

As we gather to celebrate his remarkable life, we are reminded of the laughter he brought, the wisdom he shared, and the love he bestowed upon us all. In honoring his memory, we find solace in the beauty of his existence and the profound impact he left on our lives.

Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Carol Wilson’s life will be held On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 10am, at Longview Missionary Baptist Church. A committal service will follow at Memory Park Cemetery in Longview. There will be a visitation the night before on March 18, 2024, from 6-8pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.

May Carol Wilson rest in peace, in his memory, let us cherish the moments we shared, hold dear the lessons he imparted, and continue to live our lives in a way that honors his remarkable spirit.
