Pleasant High School and obtained a bachelors’ degree from East Texas State University. She spent 32 years as an elementary and middle school teacher and touched many lives as a classroom teacher. For the past 12 years, she was simply known as “Coach Elliott”. As a Health and P.E. teacher at Wallace middle school, she inspired many young athletes and future MPHS tigers.

She was active in UIL, the annual Veterans’ Day program and was the founder of the very successful Wallace Running Club. She was honored by her peers as Teacher of the Year in 2017. Dona loved to travel, play games, SHOP, and spend time with her grandkids. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ and loved attending with her family.

She is survived by her parents, Ron and Deloris Traughber of Mt. Pleasant, son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Dara Elliott of Enterprise, Alabama, son, Jared Elliott of Mt. Pleasant, son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Kelly Elliott of Mt. Pleasant, 11 grandchildren, one sister, Linda Traughber of Mt. Pleasant, and two nieces, Emilee Capel and Mollee Ferrell.
