Charles Michael Case, Jr. was born August 16, 1937, in Port Arthur, Texas to Charles Michael Case, Sr., and Mildred La Grange Case.

After high school, Charles enlisted in the US Navy for 6 years. He trained as a machinist’s mate and learned to operate all the machine tools aboard the USS Dixie (AD-14), a destroyer tender.

He was proud of his service in the US Navy. Charles found a trade he not only loved, but one he excelled in. Charles was the most skilled machinist I have ever met. He could not only make anything, he could also invent a design to solve any problem. If Charles Case did it, it was going to work and be of the highest quality.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Charles found he could not work for anyone very long. He had many, many jobs, some lasting only one day, due primarily to his short temper. He then founded the Ore City Machine Shop in 1969, which he owned and operated for almost 50 years.

Ore City Machine Shop made and developed many products from automatic coupling marking machines, gas lift mandrels, inspection equipment, and many other products. All were unique Charles Case designs. All were designed to outlast the competitive products and did!
