Betty Sue Cornutt, 86, peacefully passed away on May 21, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty Was born to Ewell & Nannie Jones on July 31, 1936 in Buford, Texas. Betty married the love of her life, Bennie on December 19, 1953. They were blessed with 3 children, Susan, Larry & Carla.
Known as Nannie to her 6 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren, she was devoted to her family.
Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years Bennie Cornutt; daughter, Susan & son-in-law, Monty Norfleet, son, Larry Cornutt, daughter, Carla & sonin- law, Randy Wake; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Norfleet & wife, Jillian, Monica Sumner & husband, Jacob, Amy Varley & husband, Jordan, Rachael Goree & husband, Trent, Randall Wake & wife, Ashley, Joshua Cornutt; 10 great grandchildren, Aubree Norfleet, Slade Dove, Dylan, Kayla & Kinsey Bell, Vance Varley, Emma & Steven Goree, Conri Wake & Alex Cornutt; sister, Patty Robertson & husband, Lacy; sister-in-law, Dorothy Petty & husband, Wilford; sister-in-law, Linda Hill & husband, Daryl; sister-in-law, Pauline Pitman & brother-in-law, Billy Cornutt; numerous nieces & nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Nannie & Ewell Jones; sisters, Patricia Hinds & Doris Jones; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Era & Willis Cornutt; sisters-in-law, Maybelle Glasgow, Jean Cornutt, Kay Nell Cornutt & Ruth Ann Jones; brothers-in-law, Kent Hinds, Jimmy Merket, Leroy Cornutt & Hank Pitman.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Nevills Chapel Cemetery.
