Lanora Jean Moore Anderson, 81 passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. She was born September 8, 1939, at home in the New Hope community of Franklin County, Texas, to Roy E. and Audrey Faye (Stocks) Moore.

After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School in 1957, she moved to Dallas, Texas and attended and graduated from the Rutherford Metropolitan Business School. She was employed as a secretary with General Materials, Inc., of Dallas when she met Billy Jack.

She married Billy Jack Anderson on August 23, 1959. The couple made their home in Mt. Pleasant, where they raised their two children, Darthie and David.

Lanora worked for Titus County Fresh Water Supply District No.1 as Secretary and Bookkeeper. She had the privilege of working with two of their Executive Directors, John W. Mason and Tommy Spruill. She retired in August 2006 with 22 years of service.

She took piano lessons and learned to play at a very young age. She played Hymns on the piano and the organ throughout her life. She enjoyed ceramics and China painting and was very talented at both. She loved her family and spent many hours planning and cooking for the many occasions they celebrated.

Lanora is survived by her beloved husband of almost 62 years, Billy Jack Anderson; her daughter, Darthie Anderson, her son, David Anderson and his wife Phyllis; grandchildren, Phillip Anderson, Brittany Anderson and Seth Gerhart, Derick Warren and his wife Kirsten, Shannon Sharpton and Mike Fierro; great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Tanner, Mason, Alice, Lydia, Archie, Zak and Kolton; Nephew, Jeffrey Moore and wife Kristine; great-nephews, Joshua and Jhonatan; great- nieces, Elizabeth, Mariaelena and Talia; Brothers, Gaylon Moore and his wife Jean, Bennie Moore and his wife Avery; Cousins, Virginia and Don Reed, Sheryle and Bobby Rhea, Gale Stocks, Judy Stocks, Carolyn and Ron McQuine.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, there will be no visitation scheduled with the family.

A private family graveside service will be held at

Bethel Cemetery.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Pleasant Springs Healthcare Center and to the doctors and nurses at TRMC for the special care and attention they gave to her.
