Michael Scott Amerso

Michael Scott Amerson passed away on July 10, 2024, from a massive stroke. He was 67 years old. In 1975 Scott graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. Afterward he attended Paris Junior College and graduated from East Texas State University in 1978. Before retiring, Scott taught for the Houston Independent School District for 21 years. In 1985 he became the first blind person to receive a masters in supervision and administration from the University of Houston.

Surviving Scott are his children Holly Lin (Stephen) from Denver, Colorado; Andrew Amerson (Stephanie) from Frisco, Texas; Lori Sheridan (Nathan) from Haslet, Texas and Amy Amerson from Irving, Texas. Also, surviving are Rose Lin, grand-daughter from Denver, Colorado; June Lawler, mother from Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Ashley Amerson, nephew from Midlothian, Texas; niece Traci Amerson Licata, (Peter) from Houston, Texas; Easton Licata and Lawton Licata, great nephews from Houston, Texas.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Bob Amerson and his brother Wade Amerson. Funeral services are pending at this time.
