Funeral Service for George Wheeler, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Tumey Mortuary Chapel. Interment in Searcy Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. He died, July 3, 2024.
George was born December 29, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Napoleon and Emma (Hurndon) Wheeler.
George graduated from High School in California. He received an Associate’s Degree from Barstow College in Barstow, CA. He was a member of Bakers Street Church of Christ, Bakersfield, CA and was a US Army veteran. He was an Engineer for Santa Fe Railroad and then retired after 30 years of service from Atlantic Richfield Oil & Gas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Shawn Wheeler, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife Willie Faye Wheeler; daughter Shekeylia Johnson-Henderson of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; three grandchildren Sharyssa Sanders, Christian Johnson, Jalynn Johnson; one great grandchild Ozias Johnson; two aunts Helen Evans of Mt. Pleasant and Merlene Scales of Long Beach, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends.
