A popular author in the library is Freida McFadden and her latest release is The Inmate. In Swamp Spies, the 26th hilarious installment of Lana DeLeon’s incredibly popular Miss Fortune mystery series, Fortune Redding faces one of her biggest challenges yet. Her CIA operative friend Carter has gone missing in the Middle East after going rogue from his mission. Now it’s up to Fortune to use all her skills and connections to mount a daring rescue operation. Back in Sinful, Louisiana, the antics continue when local prankster Gage Babin’s latest joke goes tragically awry, leaving him dead. Though it appears accidental, Fortune suspects foul play. She’ll have to dig up the truth to ensure justice is served. With Carter’s life on the line and a potential murderer on the loose, it’s another adventure packed with DeLeon’s trademark wit and humor. The library has a full slate of activities and events for community members of all ages this spring. 

Book lovers are invited to the library’s book club meeting on Thursday, March 28th at 6:00 p.m. This month’s read was Mother-Daughter Murder Night. Even if you haven’t read the book, feel free to stop by and enjoy the discussion. Get crafty at the $5 adult craft night on April 11th at 6:00 p.m. Participants will make a shabby chic photo frame. Space is limited, and registration is required for this friends’ night out. For the littlest patrons, registration is now open for the Play, Learn, Grow program for children ages 12-36 months. From April 15th to May 1st, 10:30-11:45 a.m., children and parents can spend time together playing, socializing, and making new friends over six sessions. A child development specialist will also be available for one-on-one consultations. 

Teens and adults who are fans of the Star Trek franchise won’t want to miss the First Contact Day Party on April 5th at 6 p.m. Celebrate first contact with trivia, crafts, snacks, and more intergalactic fun. With activities for readers, crafters, parents, and sci-fi enthusiasts, there’s something for everyone at the library this spring.
