The world lost a sweet lady on Friday, March 8, 2024 -- Mrs. Ila Faye Colley Crescimanno. She was known by many names: Mamma, Mom, Granny, Mrs. Faye, Mrs. Ila, Mrs. C, Mamma C, Faye, and Ila. She was born September 21, 1935 in Carthage, Texas to William B. and Georgia Hamilton. She met and married Milton Earl Colley on April 2, 1960 and lived in Mt. Pleasant where they raised 3 daughters until his death in 1969.
Ila was very active with the local Girl Scout organizations and received many awards for her lifetime service. She worked for many years as an RN at the Mt. Pleasant Hospital and Gera Nursing Home serving others. After that she was a clerk in the District Clerk’s Office for many years and worked with several local law offices. After she retired from the Clerk’s office, Ila spent the remainder of her retired years working at the Safe-T Store where she continued to help people and brighten their lives.
Ila was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Hamilton; her father, William B. Hamilton; her first husband, Milton Earl Colley; her second husband, Dominic Crescimanno, Jr., and her daughter, Kellye James.
She is survived by her daughters: Karen Colley Cleaver [Tony] of Rogers, Arkansas; Kristy Colley Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, TX; sons: Dominic Crescimanno [Windy] of Mt. Vernon, TX; Jerry Crescimanno [Gail] of New Winsor, New York; Joseph Crescimanno [Cheryl] of New Winsor, New York; and daughter, Janine Milz [Bryan] of Florida, New York. Her grandchildren include: Zachary [Amanda] Cleaver of Austin; Haley [Timmy] Oswald of Henderson; Addie Jackson of Mexico, Missouri; Zane [Shelby] Jackson of Yukon, Oklahoma; Mindy Bohlken of Daingerfield; Anna [Gary] Blackburn of Mt. Vernon; Jason Bohlken of Howard, Colorado; and Terry [Nicki] Dutton of Brashear. Great-grandchildren include: Kaylee Bohlken of Daingerfield; Oakley and Troy Oswald of Henderson; Elliott Jackson; Bayker, Hensley, and Luna Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma; Jax Dutton; Madison and Mya Hernandez of Brashear.
She was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginning Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, TX with Bro. Dominic Crescimanno and Bro. Bill Whitaker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ila’s memory be made to Dierksen Hospice, 2605 W. Ferguson Road, Mount Pleasant, TX 75455.
